I got a new phone! It's a Samsung Inspire, or something like that. I'm loving it for the most part.

Parenting, History quiz and other stuff
Well, I've been a bad blogger lately. I haven't written a blog post in over a week. So, here's a quick synopsis on my past week.
Monday-Thursday were actually pretty event-less. Wednesday was the first day of institute for the semester. we're holding class at the ROTC center at ERAU instead of at the stake center.
Friday night was the YSA dance. It was a 50's theme, so I dressed as a greaser. The dance was a lot of fun, except for the fact that I rolled my ankle about 30 seconds after I started dancing. I kept going though. I also danced most fast songs and all slow songs; also, I remember several names. This is huge- I almost ALWAYS forget names, sometimes while I'm still dancing with the girl. I also met a girl named Ashley, who happens to know one of my e-pals, Jennifer.
Saturday, I was still in pain from my ankle, and also somehow managed to pull the muscle along the top of my foot, so I got to spend the day at work limping around. But my day got better- as I left for my lunch break, my brother Ben walked up to me; so he, his daughter Capri and I had lunch together. Ben and I talked about a few things, including parenting. We agree a lot on parenting. (This is kinda rare; he and I don't agree on politics and several social issues.) He told me how people are so surprised at Erin (his wife) for staying at home with Capri. We talked about how much it shows that parents these days don't take a care into their kids' lives, and how they blame parents and leaders at church (like Ben, the scoutmaster) for the kids' issues. Parents today suck. I would have NEVER ever considered listening to an mp3 player or playing on the phone at church meetings, while in the meetings themselves. Sure, I listen to my mp3 player a lot (I drain the battery about once a day) and I text a bit, but when I'm in a meeting i turn things off. I know it sounds chauvinistic and boorish, but I believe that children should not be raised at day-cares, and that when there are children at home, I believe that they deserve to be raised by two parents, in a traditional household. My mom stayed home with me. The only time my mom ever worked when I was growing up was when my dad was injured and couldn't work. Now, I have no qualms with my future wife working before we have kids/ after they all grow up, but I wan't a traditional family. The real problem is when people don't understand just what really is a want versus a need. I know this isn't an opinion that is widely popular, especially in the church, but that's how I feel.
Now, as my title says, I am going to write a little history quiz for fun. Answers are available in comments. NO CHEATING! (Note- If you disagree with the answers I provide, I will provide proof upon request.)

This sunday night.
I love the gospel. My friend Sam is getting his endowments Tuesday, and is leaving for his mission in a few weeks. I'm so excited for him. I remember who was just a few years ago, and the contrast between that Sam and this Sam is truly beautiful. It has made me reflective of how much I have been changed by Christ over the past year or so. It took some extremely difficult situations in life to make me see what was there, but now I know that despite the fact I caused those situations, Christ used those things so show me his love, and show me that he knows what is truly best for me. I cannot wait for the chance to serve a mission. I can feel it coming, I can almost "taste" it if you will. a $4000 hospital bill isn't going to stop me.

Back to the beginning
Well, I moved yesterday. Back home :( I don't like living with my parents. I hate being treated like I'm 16 (which I can already tell my mom will be doing, still.) I hate not living on my own. I hate not being able to just do whatever I wanna do, whenever I wanna do it. I don't like this. I hope it is very short-term.
I know this sounds very pessimistic, and that is likely to do with the fact that I had a truly miserable day at work today. But coming to a instant jumping-down-my-throat as soon as I get home, didn't help. I want outa here.

Quite the weekend
Well, my weekend started out rough. Thursday morning, I was getting out of bed to start my morning routine (read: bathroom) and I knocked into my guitar. Guess which one. Yeah, that's right, Devin, my favorite and most expensive guitar. I knocked it off the stand, and it landed flat on the ground. Well, I looked it over quickly, played it, and checked for anything being lose. Nothing seemed wrong, but I felt uneasy about it. I went down to Guitar Attic, and asked Randy. He told me to check along the scarf joint, and then along the end of the neck where it bolts onto the body. Here's what I found:
Needless to say, I'm unhappy. I was told this isn't anything big, but it hurts the re-sale value.
Saturday, I had to work with the worst employee at Chick-Fil-A. This kid does not do his job; He does everything but. I had to tell him 20 times to get on his register. he is so lazy, but Steve thinks he's the best. I don't get it. Then as I left work, I found out the tube on my bike had blown out, and took out the side of the tire as well. I called my mom for a ride, but she didn't' answer. I started walking. I got to Big Lots, and called my mom again. She didn't answer, so I called my dad, and just as he answered, he was two minutes away from where I was. I was amazed and humbled. Well, I eventually got home, and put in a new tube and tire. THAT tube had a hole in it. I called for a ride to Wal-Mart, and I got a new tube.
Today was good. Church was great. Class went well. I got to go to Priesthood, which I usually don't get to do because of my calling in Primary. During Elders, Brother Cervany and I were in the very back, and I found out again why I enjoy that man's company so much. He is a professor as Daytona State, very articulate, and very sarcastic. He and I had fun. It reminded me of Statler and Waldorf from the Muppets. (Which, by the way, Grandpa Vic and Uncle Bill remind me of those two.) After church, I tried to fix my tire; I couldn't get the dang tire off. I've changed bike tires 10000 times, and never had this much trouble. I tried for two hours. The problem is that my Fiji, unlike my Trek (and every other bike I've ever owned) has a very narrow and deep rim. I eventually called my dad for a ride to his house for dinner with my parents, my sister Sarah, Her husband mark and their daughter Lydia, my brother Ben and his daughter Capri, and the sister missionaries. Dinner was a blast. After dinner, I got two tire levers from the Livingstons and fixed my bike.
Now, my weekend is over. Tomorrow at 530am, My new week begins.
It's be a good one I'm sure.
